Whenever you approach anything out of deep love then the answer won't be far away, this is what I experience again and again by playing music, no matter whether I do it myself or I'm just listening. Any melody can safe a life. I have always been obsessed with melodies, even when I was a small child and my mother used to clean our children's place with the radio spreading the usual 80s pop music I was extremely fascinated by the sheer possibility of music existing. My father must have been kind of the same since I remember him relaxing only to his Pink Floyd records. By now I'm quite occupied with music. Besides playing and also kind of exploring the bass with face-about-face, I'm writing my own songs in the real old-school-way: just the guitar and me. Artists like Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Nick Drake and St Thomas are an incredible inspiration to my songwriting. Currently, there is one more project which I take part in. It is a two women - two voices - acoustic project in which I'm playing an acoustic bass. Marlen, playing the guitar, is mostly responsible for the songwriting that tends to the recent german tradition of Liedermacher. up | prev | next |
